Other Accomplishments
Van didn't always teach at La Colina Junior High School. He
had some teaching experience before he arrived in Santa
Barbara and he also performed some teaching duties outside of
La Colina.
And he always loved to play softball.
In addition Van:
- taught organ lessons and organized two elementary school bands in Grand Rapids, MI
- was Minister of Music, Fayetteville, North Carolina during his military years.
- was Assistant Marching Band Director at San Jose State College.
- supervised UCSB Instrumental Music student teachers.
- was Minister of Music at Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church in Santa Barbara.
